About this Event
This Mushroom Log Growing Workshop will be hosted by Two River Mushroom and Marilyn Schlossbach (executive chef and restaurateur). In this hands on workshop you will learn how to grow your own gourmet mushrooms. We will transform a variety of fresh hardwood logs into productive specialty mushroom bearing logs. We will also briefly discuss the life history of mushrooms, the incredible health benefits of these gourmet mushrooms and why we think mushrooms are without a doubt, in our future to save our planet (mycoremediation & Sustainable food sources) This is a great opportunity to get involved in learning new food growing skills as well as discovering a deeper understanding of mushrooms and ecology. This workshop lays the foundation for working with logs as a mushroom growing medium, and the supplies needed for growing your own projects. Mushrooms we will work with: Shiitake (multiple strains), Oyster (Blue,Pink,golden), maitake.
